How much notice do you need to place an order?

In an ideal world we ask for two weeks’ notice to guarantee completion and delivery of your order on time, particularly for larger orders and during our busy season.  Having said that we will always do our best to reach any timeframe you have and can complete some orders same day if required.

Who creates the designs to print?

When it comes to design you have three options:

  • Choose one of our pre made designs
  • Submit your own designs for printing
  • Let us make a custom design for you

Custom designs by our team are charged at $50 per hour

What file types are required for printing?

Although we can print with most file types, the best options to provide us are a .jpg or .eps file.  As a general rule the higher quality the image, the better the print will be.

Can you prepare a mock-up for approval?

Yes, we can create an electronic mock-up for approval.  Please contact us directly for all mock-up requests.

Are samples available?

Samples can be made available on an as requested basis.  Please contact us directly for all sample requests.

How long do your products last?

Chocolates – As with most chocolate these will last over one year as long as they are kept out of direct sunlight and heat

Cookies – Our shortbread cookies will stay fresh for between 5-7 days if not wrapped, and between 2-3 weeks if individually wrapped

Cupcakes – Our cupcakes will stay fresh for 2-3 days, and can be eaten up to 1 week after being made.  Cupcakes should be kept within the plastic or tin packaging as provided and kept out of sunlight and heat.  No need for refrigeration

Where are your cookies and chocolates made?

With the exception of a few products all of our chocolates, cookies, cupcakes, and everything else are made fresh daily in our facility by our professional staff.

What is your Nut-Free Policy?

Branded Bites is a nut-free facility.  We do not use nuts in any of our products and will not bring any nuts or nut products into our facility.  Having said this, we cannot control everyone or everything that comes into our facility.  Although highly unlikely, it is always possible that products and ingredients coming into our facility have come into contacts with nuts during delivery or in a previous warehouse.

Our products have been brought into schools and served to children with known nut allergies safely.  There are no guarantees but we do take all reasonable precautions to eliminate any possible cross-contamination with nuts or nut products.

Are there packaging alternatives available?

If you don’t like what you see online just call us!  Although we have many options on this site we pride ourselves in tailoring each item to our client’s wishes and can find alternative package options when required.   Our creative and unique approach is what sets us apart!

What are you printing onto?

Depending on the product chosen we are either printing onto a royal icing or fondant icing.  We take pride in the fact that we do not use any rice or edible papers on our products.  In our experience our direct printing technology leads to a higher quality taste without altering the taste or consistency of our delicious treats.

Can you colour match with our logo?

We can get pretty close, however due to the nature of food products we are not able to colour match exactly.  The FDA and CFIA limit the amount of certain colours we can use in food products which limits us from being able to print true colour.

Although we can’t be exact we can get pretty close in most cases.  If you are concerned please let us prepare a sample for you ahead of time for approval.

Do certain images print better than others?

Yes, certain images will print better than other.  We have printed thousands of different images onto food please feel free to submit an image and ask our opinion.  In the meantime, here are some general tips:

  • Typically images with dark coloured backgrounds are not suggested for two reasons; first the extra dark ink will cause bleed slightly into the foreground image, and second when too much is ink used in dark colours the ink may rub onto a person’s mouth when eating it giving them a nice coloured mouth (please don’t worry, this only happens in cases of very heavy ink usage and we will warn you if you submit an image that this may occur)
  • Typically images with clean, crisp lines such as company logos will come out best
  • Generally speaking we try to avoid using photographs taken on phones.  With every new phone release these issues tend to solve themselves but many phone models out today do not take photos with high enough resolution to print well.

How can I pay for my order?

We accept Cash, Visa, Mastercard, or Cheque.  Due to the custom nature of our product we do require either payment in advance, or a credit card to be held on file.  For corporate requests to invoice an order with terms please contact us directly.

Shipping (2)

Where do you ship to?

Most products can be shipped anywhere within North America via UPS.  Same day courier is typically used for orders within the GTA.  Cupcakes and cakes are not shippable and are therefore only available within the GTA.  During certain summer months we will limit shipping of our chocolates to the GTA or if outside of the GTA will ship via express overnight courier only.
